CMU-Q signs Memorandum of Understanding with Abuissa Holding

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) and Abuissa Holding (AIH) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate in the fields of scientific research and strategic studies.
During the signing ceremony, Ashraf Abuissa, Chairman and CEO of Abuissa Holding, commented: “We are very pleased to have formalized our cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. The exchange of knowledge and resources will help facilitate the professional growth of both CMU-Q students and the Abuissa Holding team. By enriching the abilities and talents of our human capital, we further support the economic development of Qatar.”
The agreement includes the provision of scholarships, internships and employment for CMU-Q students; cooperation in the education of the AIH executive leadership; sharing of professional expertise, scientists and researchers; and organizing specialized conferences, seminars and workshops.
The dean of CMU-Q, Michael Trick, commented: “The partnership with Abuissa Holding brings together academia and the business sector in the spirit of learning and cooperation. Abuissa Holding offers our students the opportunity to learn in a real world setting; at the same time, we will share our wealth of information and expertise to help Abuissa team members learn and develop. We look forward to many years of fruitful collaboration with Abuissa Holding.”
